When I was a toddler, my grandfather gave me a box of
crayons and paper to play with, and since that fateful day, I’ve been drawing.
I encountered my first comic book (Daredevil #39 The Holy Three) when I was 7
years old. From that day on I’ve been hooked on writing and drawing comic book
characters. My style of art mimics Jack Kirby, John Byrne, Steve Rude, and Mike
Mignola. There is so much diversity in the work and writing of these artists
and I try to push the amalgam of this quartet in my work.
For all intents, I attend the Art Institute of
Washington to become a better comic book artist. Sometime after my first animation class, I
animated my character “Valkyrie” and the idea of just being a comic book
illustrator transformed into something more. Now I am a 2D/3D animator. In the beginning I had the ability to draw
anything using fine art tools. Now I can create whatever I can imagine using
Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash, and After Effects. I have a working
knowledge of Autodesk 3ds Max and Maya. I am on a journey to produce hybrid
2D/3D animated movies that contain traditional hand drawn animation with
Digital 3D models of environments and characters of my own creation.
I plan to continue my education towards a Master’s
degree in Fine Arts in order to teach art and eventually establish my own comic
book and animation studio under the name DIVERSE Comics and Animation. My goal is to produce comic book properties
and animation films that will be sold worldwide using the digital spectrum.
